Amate y salvate

Well, it's been a long time since I first wanted to try this technique, I was just waiting to see the perfect reference pic.
Just in case you don't know who he is, this is a portrait of Luis Alberto Cuevas Olmedo, better known as Beto Cuevas, the lead singer of Chilean band La Ley. I came up with the idea to use this as a reference image because the video clip of their song "Amate y Salvate" turns constantly from positive to negative www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhPIj3… . So then, I took the left half and made it just as it looks, and with the right half I changed the shadows to lights and so on, that is to say I drew it with inverted tones. Only when viewed in negative this half turns realistic.
I used a pencil that is a mixture of graphite and charcoal of the Italian trademark "Fila" known as "Carboncino N°2" of the "Belle Arti" series and thick paper size A4.

Bueno, a pasado mucho tiempo desde la primera vez que quise probar esta técnica, sólo estaba esperando encontrar la imagen de referencia perfecta.
En caso que no lo conozcan, este es un retrato de Luis Alberto Cuevas Olmedo, más conocido como Beto Cuevas, el cantante de la banda chilena La Ley. Se me ocurrió la idea de usar como referencia esta imágen porque el video clip de la canción "Amate y Salvate" pasa constantemente de positivo a negativo www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhPIj3… . Asi que hice la mitad izquierda tal cual es y con la mitad derecha lo que hice fue transformar las sombras en luces, es decir, la hice con tonos invertidos. Sólo cuando se la ve en negativo pasa a verse realista.
Usé un lápiz mezcla de grafito y carbonilla de la marca italiana "Fila" llamado "carboncino N°2" de la línea "Belle Arti" y papel opalina tamaño A4.
