This was just a quick drawing I made this morning to celebrate I'm back and again active on this wonderful forum DA
I made this piece in about two hours...wow, just the left eye took me half an hour! And I spent most of the rest of the time making the dark background This is something I'd wanted to do a long time ago and I thought this was the perfect opportunity while I make up my mind of what my next big project will be about
This is the second time I try this technique using chalk pastels...my first attemp is on my scraps and I'm still not sure about moving this piece to my scraps, lets see what happens I like it and I don't I'm happy with his eyes, they were precisely my inspiration, as always. I like as well how the mouth turned out but I think that his face looks a bit large...but then I think that after all, this is just a part of a whole; I mean, I haven't drawn his whole hair also, his pose makes it look more strange but I'm humble and admit that it doesn't look like the reference picture. Anyway, I didn't want it to be realistic because I can't get that realism with chalk pastels , take it as something purely artistic I hope you like it, though
